What is this site?

This is an attempt to provide a collaborative, worshipful online work environment for committees and boards of churches.

Sub-domains are secure site and therefore your team would need to login each time you visit. No one but your team will have access to your site.

All videos, documents, posts, pages, and comments will be available only to those that are logged in. Even if they are accidentally linked back by sharing.

There are a number of features that will help teams begin conversations online that they can then complete in person and vice-versa. Some decisions can be made directly on the site so no meeting time is needed for items that can be processed online.

Features include:

  1. A dwelling in the Word portion, a verse of the day and other inspirational material in the sidebars.
  2. Polling – polls and surveys will come up on occasion. We can use these to make decisions. A poll result page will show the results of all our pollings.
  3. Rating – you can rate the posts and comments. This can be used to find consensus. The best ideas will rise to the top.
  4. Summary – there will be widgets that show what are the top rated ideas and another that shows things that are still unrated. This will help you see what needs further discussion and what is done.
  5. A calendar of upcoming events will help you stay focused and on track for meeting in person.
  6. A documents page will hold needed documents for any conversation and also serve as an archive.
  7. Categories will serve to focus on the BIG questions. For example: Master Plan
  8. Tags will serve to organize smaller parts of the larger discussion. For example: Cemetery, Gym, Storage, Worship Facility
  9. A live chat will give us the opportunity to be on the site at the same time and chat via text or video.
  10. A live page will give you the option to broadcast your meetings to those that may not be able to be present physically. This will take some work to make secure and will be a later development.
  11. The main body will be where the initial part of a discussion topic or idea is placed. By clicking on the title you will be taken to the discussion page forum for that discussion or idea. You can participate in the discuss by posting comments below the discussion, commenting on others comments, or rating anything on the page. You can also live chat in the text box to the right or call someone and discuss on the phone while looking and working collaboratively on the site.
